EP is seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-minded Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager. Who is responsible for overseeing the activities of the purchasing and inventory control department and managing the inventory of materials for the company?

- Perform duties and assignments, and conduct self in such a manner as to reflect good credit on Energy Partners.
- A professional appearance is important along with excellent skills in customer relations with the ability to work as a team member.
- The repetitive physical motion and the ability to perform strenuous tasks such as lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing weighted items.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
- Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
- Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
- Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
- Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
- Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
- Sets authorization limits for purchasing staff.
- Purchases large and complex items.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
- Travel to visit vendors or different company locations.
- Executes daily inventory analysis and reconciles with financial data; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
- Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
- Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management Preferred,
- 2-3 years of inventory control experience required with supervisory experience preferred.
