EP is seeking an experienced, reliable, and safety-minded Purchasing and Inventory Control Manager. Who is responsible for overseeing the activities of the purchasing and inventory control department and managing the inventory of materials for the company?

  • Must demonstrate honesty, integrity, confidentiality, dependability, and flexibility along with initiative and motivation to organize and complete tasks.
  • Perform duties and assignments, and conduct self in such a manner as to reflect good credit on Energy Partners.
  • A professional appearance is important along with excellent skills in customer relations with the ability to work as a team member.
  • The repetitive physical motion and the ability to perform strenuous tasks such as lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing weighted items.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchases supplies, materials, and parts for the company.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, prices, buyers, and delivery conditions to anticipate future material availability; directs purchasing programs accordingly.
  • Develops and maintains inventory databases for supplies and materials used.
  • Negotiates and completes contracts with vendors for optimal cost and delivery times.
  • Reviews purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.
  • Collaborates with sales, customer service, and logistics departments to maximize efficiency in the purchasing and inventory control department.
  • Communicates with suppliers to resolve problems that may arise regarding delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.
  • Sets authorization limits for purchasing staff.
  • Purchases large and complex items.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control with a goal to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.
  • Travel to visit vendors or different company locations.
  • Executes daily inventory analysis and reconciles with financial data; identifies and resolves discrepancies and problems.
  • Oversees stock item master, identifying incorrect descriptions and stock numbers.
  • Locates items that may have incorrect locations or stock numbers to assist order processors.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field with coursework in purchasing and/or inventory control management Preferred,
  • 2-3 years of inventory control experience required with supervisory experience preferred.
